Court Further Refines Search Protocol, Adds Search Terms and Orders Distinct Conjunctive and Disjunctive Keyword Searches
ClearOne Communications, Inc. v. Chiang, 2008 WL 920336 (D. Utah Apr. 1, 2008) This decision further refines the search protocol to be used to search data from computers used by certain defendants, which were imaged pursuant to two court orders issued in 2007. The second imaging order sought to establish a protocol for searching the mirror images to identify relevant and responsive documents. That protocol was refined in a November 5, 2007 order. Video Contest Wants Law Schools to Tell Their Worries
From Law Librarian Blog:
Student lender Access Group has announced a contest entitled "One Less Worry." The contest will award $10,000 to the most deserving video posted on YouTube describing "what law students worry about."
Access Group will select the ten finalists based on "creativity, humor, quality, realism and overall appeal" and and then open up public voting on July 1. Whoever gets the most votes by July 31 will win a $10,000 scholarship for the 2008-2009 academic year.

State Attorney in Florida complies with library request to get a court order for circulation records
Mary,
Just thought I'd let you know about another subpoena we received for patron circulation records. If you recall, the last time I received a subpoena and challenged it, I was surprised to learn that this one of the first times in Florida a motion to quash a subpoena for library records had been filed.
In this case, we asked the State Attorney (in a different judicial circuit) to rescind the subpoena and provide a court order. The State Attorney had no problem with the request and within 3 weeks we had a court order directing us to turn over information.
