Consultations on Draft of BC Family Rules
One of the recommendations in the report of the BC Family Justice Reform Working Group was to create new family rules. A Concept Draft of the BC Supreme Court Family Rules (PDF, 158 pages) and Family Rules Concept Draft Guide (PDF, 7 pages) are posted on the Justice Review Task Force (JRTF) website. Members of the judiciary, lawyers, paralegals, advocates, court registry staff and others are encouraged to provide feedback to the JRTF via the on-line forum by June 30, 2008.

In the March 2008 NIJ Journal (National Institute of Justice), felony trial judge Donald Shelton explores The 'CSI Effect': Does It Really Exist? Based on findings from a survey of jurors in Ann Arbor, Shelton concludes that it does not.
Many attorneys, judges, and journalists have claimed that watching television programs like CSI has caused jurors to wrongfully acquit guilty defendants when no scientific evidence has been presented. New Medical Certificate in Guardianship
The Mass. Probate and Family Court announced today a new form for medical certificate in guardianship cases which must be used beginning April 15, 2008.
