The Berkman Center for Internet & Society today announced that it will head a newly formed Internet Safety Technical Task Force.The Task Force, comprised of leading Internet businesses and organizations - including AOL, AT&T, Comcast, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, MySpace, NCMEC, Symantec, Verizon and Yahoo! - will focus on identifying effective online safety tools and technologies that can be used by many companies across multiple platforms.Read Berkman's full announcement.

The PLEI Portal project, to learn more about how British Columbians currently access legal information and education, has posted surveys on two popular gateways into legal information for British Columbians: the Electronic Law Library and LawLINK. C-SPAN Video Archive of House and Senate Floor Proceedings
C-SPAN has created a video archive House and Senate floor proceedings. The new C-SPAN Congressional Chronicle is produced through a automated matching of the video recordings with the Congressional Record soon after the Record is available in the day following the session. Browse by date, bill number, or person's name. Looks like there is even a RSS feed for each representative.
Each appearance has both the text from the Congressional Record as well as a video link where users can watch and listen to the actual remarks. Only actual appearances by Representatives and Senators on the floor are included.

Senate Passes Proposed Evidence Rule 502
On February 27, 2008, the Senate approved by unanimous consent without amendment S. 2450, a bill adding new Evidence Rule 502 to the Federal Rules of Evidence. The bill now goes on to be voted on in the House of Representatives. The legislation addresses waiver of the attorney-client privilege and work product protection and is identical to proposed Evidence Rule 502, which was approved by the Judicial Conference of the United States and transmitted to Congress for its consideration in September 2007.On February 25, 2008, the Senate Judiciary Committee had reported favorably on the bill.
